Offering Maintenance Service Contracts (MSCs) for production equipment can be a good source of revenue for theProviders of these services. To do this, designing an optimal MSC with a minimum price will be of great interest to service providers. In this paper, the effect of conducting periodic preventive maintenance on the failure process of a given equipment item and its corresponding cost are studied. Assuming minimal repair at failure with a random repair cost, the expected cost of maintenance service is estimated. Due to the time delay between selling the contract and paying the repair bills, the time value of service cost at the time of selling the contract is derived. Then, the cost-plus approach is used to determine the price of the MSC. In the presented model, the service provider determines the number of preventive maintenance and the improvement level to minimize the expected price of the MSC. A numerical example with comprehensive sensitivity analysis is presented to illustrate the model and its parameters' effect. The result shows that the presented model helps the service provider to design an MSC with a minimum price while assuring the profit margin.

This paper discusses the application of TPM in copy center in Woldia University located in Woldia town, north wollo, Amhara region, Ethiopia. The problem encountered in the center includes long waiting time due to frequent breakdown of equipment, unpleasant work environment, and defective product, etc. This leads to disrupt of the university programs such as exams, training, and so on. This paper uses TPM for solving above mentioned problem by employing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). The OEE value on the center is 35% which is less than the world class standard of 85%. Therefore, the center needs urgent improvement in typical equipment maintenance management program. Advantages of TPM for the center includes better utilized equipment, clean and pleasant workplace, highly motivated employee, and satisfied customer.

In this applied research, using the breakdown maintenance of the machine engine, a procedure maintenance and preventive maintenance on the fuel system, which was the main cause of the engine breakdown of these machines, was investigated. A case study was conducted on the engine of 80 Bumag BW211D rollers produced by Bumag factory, equipped with Common Rail fueling system, which were working in road construction projects in Fars, Bushehr, Hormozgan, Kohkiluyeh and Boyr Ahmad provinces. First, the data on the amount of damage and imposed costs were collected, and by designing eight service models on the fueling system, which consisted of performing and not performing three periodic services of 250, 500, and 1000 hours on the engine and the fueling system, the life of the injectors of these devices were analyzed completely randomly through the F test with an error level of 1% and the significant effect of the services on the lifetime of the injector needles was observed. Each other and on the life of the injector needles was significant. The significance of the effect of triple services in reducing fuel system costs and increasing the life of injector needles based on engine operating hours covered a low range of 700 hours in case of no service to a high range of 10, 000 hours in case of full service. By examining the working hours compared to the increase in the cost-to-income ratio of the machine in case of no service, the inverse relationship between cost and income was drawn with R 2 =1. At the end, the suggested solutions to increase the life of the injector needles such as using water separator filters and tank drainage from water and sediments were suggested.

The contract of maintenance and preservation is one type of service contracts that includes contracts such as cloud computing, parking services, lease of wombs, etc. In the European Union, this contract has been identified as a specific category of contracts, and its specific rules are provided in two documents, namely, the Principles of Euroean Law on Service Contracts (PELSC) and the Draft Common Frame of Reference (DCFR). According to this contract, one party is obligated to preserve and maintain the deposited property in exchange for receiving compensation. The aforementioned document includes obligations for the service provider, such as the obligation to provide necessary objects and personnel (providing premises, equipment, and suitable workforce), the obligation to exercise care, the obligation to return goods, the obligation to comply, and the obligation to provide reports. This research examines these obligations in the document of European Principles of Service Contracts and compares them with Iranian law. It appears that European countries have been successful in this regard by drafting the aforementioned documents, and the existence of specific laws in this area has led to the establishment of new and consistent procedures. Therefore, it is recommended that since Iran's law does not specifically address the contract of maintenance and preservation, the legislator should address ambiguities regarding this type of contract and related issues by enacting separate legislations, in order to achieve coherent rules and regulations based on the experiences of European countries in this realm.
